ABOUT SPIRITUAL ADVENTURES
Before coming to Zion Pastor Bob developed
the Spiritual Adventures Program. Spiritual Adventures provides opportunities
for spiritual development through guided activities and programs.
The retreats offered through Spiritual Adventures provide a break from
familiarity that facilitates the growth and development of the spirit.
While the reality of God’s presence
is no greater after a spiritual
adventure than it was before, each trip or program is designed to heighten
awareness and facilitate a closer sense of connection with God.
Pastor Bob brings the Spiritual Adventures program to Zion to facilitate
the spiritual development of the congregation and as a tool for outreach,
inviting non-members into the fellowship of the journey. He is in
a unique position to do this in that for 30+ years his ministry involve
working as a psychotherapist and spiritual director, certified in both
mental health and AODA counseling. He and his wife (Bethe) lead an
active outdoor life. He has guided trips into the Boundary Waters
Canoe Area for more than 25 years. He hopes to complete his 20th American
Birkebiener Ski Race in 2009. He has climbed a number of mountains,
including summating Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2005. He is an avid SCUBA diver
and a PADI instructor.
In Spiritual Adventures Bob brings together his love and experience
in nature with his understanding of the spiritual and psychological
nature of people.
Upcoming trips include a trip to the Boundary
waters in August 2009
and a return to Africa in July of 2010.
Trips to Zion
National Park and Havasu Falls are
planned.
